“The first impression you receive from daily misconceptions’ new EP "if I hug your sweaters will they get their colour back?" is kind of tangible. João Santos was pushed away from a more spatial and ethereal sound. The outcome of this new work is further peaceful and secure. A new adventure and a new approach. But remaining itself faithful to a episodic musical construction where we move forward among rhythmic and tuneful phrases, that adjust swiftly and grow between themselves to something bigger: each music of this new EP. It seems to be more earth-to-earth, and yet we go round and round in a carousel, among the warm colors that embrace and encourage us. It is also interesting, that once more, all the songs are linked with each other, involving and connecting us all the way through the EP. "if I hug your sweaters will they get their colour back?" (2008) is far away from the polarities of its first EP "true project" (2002). Polarities that were apparently chaotic or organized, more or less apocalyptic, and most of the times almost cathartic, which made us fall into an insomnia trap until we realize that that was exactly crucial. Another difference between these two EP’s is the graphical design of the new edition: out of the illustrated loneliness of the urban landscape, we adjust to more sparkling and cuddling memories, suggested by the hand made element of the new graphical design. daily misconceptions new EP remains nonetheless, an intimate and open dreamlike sensation, and a communicative one too.

It’s admirable to know there are still an impulsive and a spontaneous reaction in Portuguese music, and that some artists don’t just follow neither standardized currents nor concepts, but merely create music without the fear to risk. Unfortunately, such projects continue without receiving the necessary attention and projection by the music industry and media. Blessings for the changes made by the Internet.”

“O contacto que se dá com o novo EP de daily misconceptions "if I hug your sweaters will they get their colour back?" é quase táctil, e afastou João Santos de uma sonoridade mais etérea e espacial. O resultado deste novo trabalho é mais calmo e seguro, numa aventura por novas abordagens, mas ainda mantendo-se fiel a uma construção musical episódica onde avançamos por entre frases rítmicas e melódicas que mudam de repente e progridem entre si para algo maior que é cada música deste novo EP. Parece ter os pés mais assentes na terra pelo que damos mais voltas num carrossel de cores quentes, que nos acolhem e encorajam. Interessante é também o facto de, mais uma vez, as músicas se envolverem e entrecruzarem, no fim/início, envolvendo-nos a nós, ouvintes, no pequeno todo que é este EP. "if I hug your sweaters will they get their colour back?" (2008) está longe das polaridades do seu primeiro EP "true project" (2002), polaridades aparentemente caóticas ou ordenadas, mais ou menos apocalípticas e quase sempre catárticas, que faziam com que nos deixássemos ir até nos apercebermos de que é isso o que é preciso: deixarmo-nos ir. A diferença entre estes dois EP’s é acompanhada pela mudança do grafismo da edição: da solidão, da paisagem urbana ilustrada passamos a outras memórias, mais aconchegantes e sorridentes, sugeridas pelo aspecto artesanal da montagem gráfica. Mantém-se a sensação onírica, próxima e muito comunicativa das composições de daily misconceptions.

É bom saber que há atrevimento e espontaneidade musical criativa em Portugal, que não procura seguir correntes nem conceitos padronizados, mas simplesmente percorrer o seu caminho artístico e sem medo de arriscar. Só é pena que tais projectos continuem sem receber a atenção e a projecção necessárias, por parte dos media e dos tubarões da indústria. Ainda bem que a internet veio mudar o panorama.”
